7 Most Useful Websites for Indian Traders

Introduction

Traders need to stay on top of a lot of information and not all the information is available in one place.

Therefore, we are going to share the 7 most useful websites that can help you make better-informed decisions.

1. Moneycontrol.com

Top on the list is Money Control. Here’s what I like about Money Control and its mobile app.

  • It has the most up-to-date Earnings calendar, which comes in very handy during the result season
  • You can also create your portfolio, easily track your stocks, download free brokerage reports and get tons of end of day stats.
  • If you are an intraday trader, you probably will also appreciate the heads-up articles before every trading session where they list out all the cues to watch out for the day.

Here are some quick tips for using this website effectively:

  • First, use an ad blocker so that you are not constantly bombarded by the annoying ads
  • Ignore all the click-bait articles on 5 multi-bagger ideas or see who became crorepati or similar nonsense because they are all click baits.
  • Completely stay away from its forum.

But on all accounts, Moneycontrol is an awesome website and worth checking out.

2. Investing.com

The Second most useful website is investing.com

  • The most useful feature of this website is the charts.
  • They have an amazing user-friendly, customizable chart that can be loaded with an indicator of your choice and you can even set price alerts on stocks of your choice
  • Another thing I like here is that along with Indian stocks we can also track global indices, commodities like Brent Crude and pretty much anything that trades.
  • I also keep an eye on the economic calendar, which gives the list of upcoming events that could move the market events such as RBI meeting, US Fed meeting, Jobs reports etc.

3. NSEIndia.com

This is the official website of the National Stock Exchange and is the mother of all information.

  • I am a little paranoid when it comes to the data accuracy of other websites. Therefore, I directly take the information from this website
  • Everything from open interest data to delivery reports- you name it and you can get them here.
  • If you are a serious trader, you will probably be coming to this website at least once a day.

4. Screener. in

This is the only website on this list that is focused on the fundamentals of the companies.

  • You can analyze the financial reports, compare companies within a sector, run scans, and do a lot more.
  • Almost everything is available for free.
  • The best thing with the screener is you are not constantly bombarded with any ads.
  • Hence it is very easy to focus on what we are looking for.

5. Moneybhai.com

  • Moneybhai is the best website for paper trading.
  • Paper trading is a great way for beginners to start trading without risking their money.
  • If you are a beginner at trading, my advice is to start here.

6. Zerodha Varsity

Varsity is Zerodha’s educational initiative. If you haven’t checked it out, I strongly recommend doing so because its author Karthik Rangappa has done an amazing job of explaining complex stock market concepts in very simple terms.

7. Trading Q&A

  • This is one of the very few forums for Indian traders where we are not bombarded with stock tips and services.
  • You can ask any question and someone surely gets back within minutes or even seconds.
  • It’s a great community of traders and investors.

Conclusion

That concludes my core list of websites. Here are some other websites that I occasionally visit but they more or less have similar content as the 7 websites I talked about earlier.

  • Marketsmojo.com
  • Business standard
  • Livemint
  • Investing.com
  • Trendlyne.com
  • Marketsmojo.com
  • Economic Times
