Sharekhan - 3 Great Features of Trade Tiger Platform
Sharekhan is a very popular brokerage firm and its trading platform Trade Tiger is one of the most stable platforms in India.
Let’s discuss 3 features in Trade Tiger that I find very useful in spotting good trading opportunities.
1. Heat Map:
The heat map is a great visual tool for understanding the market sentiment and how the individual sectors are performing.Â
The green colour shows that the majority of the stock in that sector is performing well whereas the red colour shows that the majority of stocks in that sector are not doing very well.
The deeper the shade of green and red implies very strong or very weak performance respectively.
You can even double click any sector and check out the stocks within that sector.
The idea is to trade in the direction of the market trend, not the opposite. I think that if you use this heat map in conjunction with the advance-decline ratio, your trading accuracy can go up higher.
2. Delivery Percentage on Chart:
Delivery Percentage is a very important criterion for analyzing stocks.
The magnitude of delivery percentage shows the confidence of investors and traders in that stock. The higher the delivery percentage/deliverable volume, the higher is the public confidence in that stock’s performance.
Sharekhan gives us the ability to plot the delivery percentage and deliverable volume right over the chart so that we can easily visualize the data. If there is any trend in the delivery percentage, it is very easy to spot that using these charts.
3. Market Scanner(Dynamic Filter):
Using a real-time scanner you can easily see which stocks are hitting their highs and lows of the day or which stocks have gone by more than a predefined percentage like 2% or 5% or the stocks making new highs and new lows and there are lots more that can be done through this scanner.
I look at it for getting a sense of which sectors and stocks are on the move and where can I find the most promising opportunities. This scanner can be very useful for Intraday traders.
These are the 3 features that I find most useful in the Trade Tiger platform. To be honest, I am not a big fan of Sharekhan as a broker because of their high brokerage, but I opened an account with them anyway to take occasional swing trades and of course to leverage these features.
Key Takeaways
1- Insider trading refers to buying and selling securities (e.g. stocks) based on confidential information that is not available to general public
2- Every year, there are several cases of insider trading that come to light and there are hundreds more that go unnoticed.
3- SEBI (our stock market regulator) has been getting strict about dealing with insider trading.
4- SEBI has made insider trading punishable by imprisonment up to 10 years or a fine upto 25 crores
